Hello, September… isn’t this the most romantic month of the year? And we all enjoy a good love story. Today, I chose a special one in my collection; it’s called “YOU vs YOU.”
This is the story where the main character is not a partner, but yourself. We are taught since childhood that in relationships, it’s all about others. Which is not entirely wrong, but it’s also not the best scenario to live by.
If you really want to be in a good relationship with others, no matter if it’s love, friendship, or family, the first person we have to work things out with is ourselves.
Why do we do that? Because even if it’s a bumpy road, it’s worth all the effort. The impact this will have on your life is major.
How do we do that? By being more mindful with our actions and thoughts, by choosing ourselves first, and by understanding that a harmonious relationship is the one where both are happy.
When it’s you vs you, focus on how to make yourself feel more loved, be compassionate, and also give yourself the benefit of a doubt. Create a positive space for yourself, spend 15 minutes daily there, and pay attention to memories, reactions, emotions, pains, and everything else that comes to you. These are your helpers; by understanding how you function, you will understand how to love yourself more.
Once this journey is complete, you will be ready to be loved and love others like you never did.
